Launch Overview
Zain South Sudan has rolled out its Sultan Deals campaign, a suite of voice and data offers designed to streamline mobile spending and widen digital access across the country, executives told reporters in Juba on Friday.
Voice and Data Bundles
The headline Junubi bundles promise unlimited nationwide calls and Zain’s lowest data tariffs, paired with optional Sabahak Zain morning discounts and a favourite-number feature for cheaper minutes, all positioned as “restrictions-free,” according to Chief Commercial Officer Mohamed Mursi.
Existing Flex packages receive a 25 percent bonus at no extra cost, convertible across voice, SMS or data, reinforcing the operator’s message of simplicity and choice.
Boosting 4G Adoption
To spur 4G usage, every new smartphone activated on the network unlocks six gigabytes of welcome data, delivered as one gigabyte per month for half a year.
Incentives for Partners
The Hedayem Sultan initiative raises SIM-activation commissions for distributors and point-of-sale agents, a move Mursi says should fatten earnings and energise the retail ecosystem surrounding Zain outlets.
Network Capacity and Expansion
Network Operations Director Daniel Loro stated that Zain already offers the widest, fastest and most reliable 4G coverage in South Sudan, backed by 24-hour technical support and continuing capital investment.
Engineering teams, he said, are upgrading rural sites in Renk, Jonglei, Pibor, Leer and Panyagor while drafting a 2026 roadmap that targets even more towns and villages.
Market Outlook
Analysts note that South Sudan’s mobile penetration remains below regional averages, leaving room for aggressive pricing and network reliability to win subscribers as political stability and oil-backed revenues gradually lift consumer spending.
