    Who We Are

The South Sudan Herald News Network is an independent news platform committed to delivering accurate, timely, and balanced reporting on South Sudan, the wider African region, and key international developments. Our editorial team is headquartered in Kenya, with contributors spread across the globe — including members of the South Sudanese diaspora who bring a unique perspective to our coverage.

We are more than just journalists. Our editorial team includes seasoned reporters, NGO workers, concerned citizens, business owners, charity officers, academics, students, legal experts, humanitarian aid professionals, teachers, community leaders, and technology specialists. Together, we form a diverse network that is united by one mission: to tell South Sudan’s story with integrity, depth, and context.

    Our Mission

We believe that a free, responsible, and informed press is essential to the future of South Sudan. We report not only on breaking news but also on the human stories that shape our communities — from Juba’s vibrant streets to the rural towns and villages of Equatoria, Upper Nile, Jonglei, Warrap, Unity, and Bahr el Ghazal.

    Our mission is threefold:

    1. Inform – Provide reliable news that empowers citizens to make informed decisions.
    2. Connect – Serve as a bridge between South Sudan and the world, amplifying voices from all states and the diaspora.
    3. Engage – Encourage dialogue and understanding across political, ethnic, and social lines.

    Our Team

The South Sudan Herald editorial network is not confined to a single office. While our core operations are based in Kenya, our contributors are located in:

    • South Sudan – Covering events in the capital, Juba, and all states.
    • East Africa – Offering regional analysis from Nairobi, Kampala, and Addis Ababa.
    • Global Diaspora – Reporting from North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.

Our team is built on diversity of background and expertise:

    • Reporters & Photojournalists – On the ground, covering events as they unfold.
    • Humanitarian & NGO Workers – Bringing insights from aid operations and development projects.
    • Business & Finance Professionals – Analyzing economic trends and opportunities.
    • Academics & Researchers – Providing data-driven context and analysis.
    • Students & Youth Leaders – Sharing fresh perspectives and grassroots stories.
    • Community Organizers & Elders – Preserving cultural narratives and traditional wisdom.
    • Technology & Media Specialists – Innovating how we deliver news to our audience.

    Our Editorial Values

We uphold the highest standards of journalism:

    • Accuracy – Every fact is verified before publication.
    • Independence – We are free from political or commercial influence.
    • Inclusivity – We reflect the voices of all South Sudanese, at home and abroad.
    • Accountability – We correct errors transparently and welcome reader feedback.

    Why We Exist

In a world of fast-changing headlines and online misinformation, South Sudan Herald News Network offers a trusted, credible alternative. We see journalism not just as reporting events, but as documenting history in real time for future generations. Our coverage extends beyond politics and conflict to include business, health, education, sports, culture, humanitarian affairs, and the environment.

    Join Our Journey

We invite readers, contributors, and supporters to join our mission. Whether you are in Juba, a rural county, or part of the diaspora, your stories matter. Together, we can shine a light on South Sudan’s challenges — and celebrate its resilience, achievements, and hope.
