    Tristar Renews $250k Partnership with SSFF

    Tristar Group has extended its partnership with the South Sudan Football Federation, releasing another US$250,000 for the Bright Stars. Signed on 1 November 2024, the renewal keeps the logistics giant as principal backer of the national team (SSFF communiqué).

    Funding Targets Coaching and Equipment Upgrade

    According to federation president Francis Amin, the funds secure salaries for head coach Patrick Kaddu, technical assistants, and new analytical software. “This timely support accelerates our drive toward professional football nationwide,” Amin said, stressing the need for stable, year-round preparation (Amin).

    Corporate Social Responsibility Through Sport

    Tristar chief executive Eugene Mayne framed the sponsorship as civic duty. “Sport unites our communities and shields youth from crime and drugs,” he noted, inviting other companies to replicate the model. The statement matches wider regional calls for greater private investment in sport (Mayne).

    Community Development Beyond the Pitch

    Beyond football, Tristar has financed computer labs, classroom blocks, solar-lit hospital wards, and village boreholes since 2009. Observers say the multidimensional approach links athletic success to education and health outcomes, reinforcing government objectives for inclusive national development.

    Optimism Surrounding the Bright Stars

    With coaching salaries guaranteed and equipment orders placed, the Bright Stars enter upcoming World Cup qualifiers buoyed by new confidence. Stakeholders argue the blueprint could soon elevate South Sudan’s FIFA standing and showcase the power of sustained corporate-government collaboration in sport.
