New Diggala Land Drive Tackles Grabbers Boldly

Central Equatoria Unveils Rural Land Push

Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu Obede has rolled out a sweeping land allocation exercise in Diggala, Rejaf Payam, positioning the rural belt at the heart of Central Equatoria State’s urban expansion strategy. Authorities say the move is designed to halt rampant land grabbing and streamline future development.

    Diggala Demarcation Targets Orderly Growth

Survey teams have begun marking residential and institutional plots, following a blueprint that aligns with the state’s “Taking Towns to the Rural” theme. Officials emphasise that clear boundaries will reduce ownership disputes, fast-track approvals and encourage investors to plan with confidence.

Institutions Receive Plots for Vital Services

During the launch, the deputy governor personally handed title documents to representatives of planned hospitals, schools, churches and mosques. The gesture signalled, according to him, “a commitment to social infrastructure before private profit,” ensuring that essential services anchor the community from day one.

Deadline to Build Aims to Deter Speculation

Juba County Commissioner Emmanuel Ezbon Tete warned new landholders against hoarding. “Develop your plot within six months or it will be reassigned,” he said, arguing that the deadline will deter speculators and reward residents ready to construct homes, clinics and markets immediately.

Urban Vision: Bringing Towns to Rural Settings

Plans for Diggala include a national stadium and expanded road links, framing the locality as a future satellite hub for the capital, Juba. State planners insist the model could guide similar projects across South Sudan, blending rural landscapes with urban opportunity.
