    South Sudan Football Federation Shake-Up

South Sudan’s football community woke up to an unexpected communiqué: Secretary-General Victor Lawrence Lual is out, replaced by lawyer Baak Athian Baak after an executive meeting led by federation president Francis Amin.

Spokesperson Adau Leek Mawut confirmed the decision yet kept the motives under wraps, promising full disclosure only once the federation’s website carries the official minutes.

    Quiet Exit of Victor Lual

Lual had served during the previous administration and was reappointed in August after Amin’s election, a gesture many read as continuity and institutional memory.

His abrupt dismissal, however, signals a shift in the federation’s internal equilibrium, even if officials insist the move simply aligns with evolving strategic priorities.

    Profile of Baak Athian Baak

New appointee Baak, described by colleagues as a meticulous administrator, previously headed the federation’s legal department and mediated club disputes.

Analysts predict his legal expertise could streamline compliance with CAF and FIFA guidelines, a crucial step as South Sudan positions for bigger continental tournaments.

    Implications for Bright Stars Campaign

With AFCON qualifiers on the horizon, stability inside the federation matters as much as talent on the pitch; players await clarity on logistical and financial support.

Amin reiterated his commitment to “professional governance that unites our football family”, a statement supporters hope translates into steady progress for the Bright Stars.

Until the official report is published, speculation will linger, yet the federation urges fans to judge the leadership by results rather than rumors.
